The theme

This convention holds under the theme Fides Deformata. It is the thread that runs through every lecture and every session across the four days, and the speakers are each assigned a topic that speaks to it.

It is a camp, not a conference

Delegates do not come and go. They arrive at 10:00 AM, Thursday 10th September and stay on site until Sunday 13th September, sleeping at the venue for the whole of the convention. That is deliberate: the value of COHIC is as much in the hours between sessions as in the sessions themselves.

Because it is residential, bring your bedding, toiletries and a modest change of clothes for the four days. Meals are provided, and every delegate carries a meal card, printed on the back of the ticket, ticked off at each service.

Bringing the institutions together

A student at The Polytechnic of Ibadan and a student at The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic in Saki are in the same Unit and rarely in the same room. One of the stated purposes of the convention is to change that: to build working relationships between branches that outlast the camp and carry back to campus.

A technology track

Alongside the lectures, the convention runs hands-on technology sessions. Practical skills, taught to be used: the sort of thing a delegate can take back to their branch and put to work immediately.

Who can attend

• Students of any higher institution in Oyo State under the Area Unit
• Executives and members of the higher-institution branches
• Delegates nominated by their Area Council
• Alumni and well-wishers of the Unit, by arrangement

Registration & the delegate fee

The delegate fee is ₦3,000 for the four days. Payment is by transfer to the Unit account; the site does not process card payments. You upload your receipt as part of registering, receive a provisional ticket immediately, and the Unit verifies the payment by hand before emailing your confirmed ticket. Until then your ticket carries a Pending stamp.
